My work has taken on 3 different directions:
Matchbooks
The quintessential “matchbook” paintings inspired by vintage matchbook design. They have been inspired by historic artifacts from Las Vegas, Palm Springs, Los Angeles and beyond. This work tends to be more pictorial in nature and also involve typography. I do this work under the artist name, “Cherry Capri,” (my alter ego). I have held two one-women shows, and several group shows of this style of work and sold many pieces.
Pop Shop
I did a short period of strange DADA-esque assemblages for a one-woman show called “Pop Shop.” It was during a difficult time in my life and reflected many troubling themes. I am glad I am through that phase.
Atomic and Abstract
Most of my more recent work has been more abstract in nature and I enjoy this work. I often repeat certain themes in some paintings, such as the Franciscan starburst motif. I have had only one one-woman show of this work, but also been included in several group shows with this style.
